Security
Security built into how RepairOps works
Your customers trust you with their devices and their details. Here's how RepairOps protects the information your shop keeps.
Protections
How shop data is protected
These protections apply on every plan unless noted.
Each shop's data kept separate
Shop data is separated in the database with Postgres row-level security. An automated check fails if any table that signed-in users or the app's API can reach has row-level security turned off.
Encrypted credentials and passcodes
API keys and credentials you save for AI providers and integrations, device passcodes entered in the passcode field, and two-factor recovery codes are encrypted in our database with AES-256-GCM. RepairOps API keys are stored only as one-way hashes. Connections to RepairOps use HTTPS.
Two-factor sign-in
Shop owners must set up two-factor sign-in after a short setup grace period (72 hours by default), and shops can require it for managers or for all staff. Staff can use an authenticator app, recovery codes, or passkeys.
Access by role and shop
Each staff member has a role, such as owner, manager, front desk, technician, or QC, that decides what they can change. Staff can be limited to the shops they work in, and they can see the repairs in those shops.
A record of changes
Status changes and edits are recorded with who made them and when. On Enterprise plans, owners and managers can review the audit log and owners can export it.
Backups and exports
Your shop's records are backed up automatically every day, unless the owner turns automatic backups off, and kept for 7 to 365 days. Photos and other files aren't included yet. Owners can download a backup, and owners and managers can export customers, tickets, inventory, and services as CSV files. Restores are run by our team on request.
